# What is an IP Address?

An **IP Address** (*Internet Protocol Address*) is a unique numerical label assigned to every device connected to the internet (e.g., 192.168.1.1). It identifies the device’s location and network, helping **Browsify** track visitor origins, detect location-based fraud (e.g., IP-card country mismatch), and block malicious IPs.
